Wed 4/27

We had our last presentation, played Budget Hero, and talked about Gross National happiness. Remember, I need writing assignment by Friday, and anthing else is due by monday. We will review for test on monday.

Monday 4/25

We talked about aggregate demand, Keynsian macro theory v the Austrians, and the difference between monetary and fiscal policy.

Letter to your congressman due Friday. Monday is last day to turn in anything else.

Thursday 4/23 and Fri 4/24

We went over the homework for ch 14 and 16, watched IOUSA and talked about social security and the budget.

Ch 19 homework is canceled. Ch 20 homework is on the right and due next week, as is your writing assignment. NO writing assignments will be accepted after Friday. Last day to turn in anything is Monday 5/2.

Read ch 20 and 21 for next week. We will also review for your test.

Wed 4/20

Those of us who weren't getting stoned went over ch 16 homework, then discussed the deficit and national debt. Ch 19 homework is canceled. Ch 20 hw due 5/2. Paper is due 4/29.

Monday 4/18

We watched the video "IOUSA" and discussed social security.

Also, the second writing assignment was handed out (see link at right) and is due 4/29. No late work will be accepted.

Ch 17 homework is due Wed (see link at right). chapter 20 homework due Monday 5/2.

5/2 is the last day to turn in anything.

We covered ch 17 and 18. Ch 17 homework is not what is on the syllabus, but is described in post below. 17 and 18 due next week.

Writing Assignment #2

Your second writing assignment is now AVAILABLE HERE. For all classes it is due on Friday 4/29, and no late work will be accepted.

NEWS FOR ALL CLASSES

Here are several news items relevant to all classes:

1) ch 17 homework is not the assignment in the syllabus, it involves listening to a podcast and writing a few sentences about it. See Below.

2) Ch 20 homework will be to play Budget Hero twice, once using the the priorities you set out for society (you badge), and once just doing whatever you need to to balance the budget. Print out your final page and turn it in by Monday 5/2.

3) The last day to turn in any work will be Monday, 5/2. This includes any homework, extra credit or other things you have not done yet. Anything submitted after that will be ignored.

We covered ch 18. Ch 18 homework due on Monday, and ch 17 due Wed.

Monday 4/11

We covered the rest of ch 16, and ch 17. Ch 16 homework due Wed. ch 17 homework will be due wed 4/20. It is not the assignment in the book, but the assignment shown below.

CHAPTER 17 HOMEWORK

For chapter 17, you do not need to do the problem in the book. Instead, go to the ECONTALK web site and listen to THIS PODCAST which relates to the gold standard and the Great Depression. Then, write a few sentences showing that you understood how it relates to the quantity theory of money in ch 17.

today we went over ch 13 and 14 homework, and covered most of ch 16. We didn't finish, so no hw due Mon. Read ch 17.
